VESSEL LAMPS

Fire & earth.

Inspired by simple forms such as mycology, the columns of the Greco-Roman period and Korean roofs -giwa- in Korean, Marco Calhau has designed and projected the VESSEL LAMPS project in an artisan-sculptural way. Working and creating slowly and according to the availability of materials, the pedestals of these lamps are handsculpted from naturally fallen logs, this means that no tree has been cut down to manufacture this lamps.
The lampshades are thrown by hand on the potters wheel by his own hands, finally a enamel is applied and fired at high temperature and finished with hand-bent brass hardware.
