BENCHARY

BENCHARY BOOKCASE arises as a project to reduce the intervention on the material to a minimum, with the aim of creating a bold piece with character.
This low sized bookcase extracts its surface finish treatment from BENCHY BENCH project, where surf boards, human textures and paleolithic silex stones are the main inspiration.
The wood has been treated through the use of now a days carving tools, a technique that in this case has been used only where the different pieces that make up the set intersect to connect. Marco Calhau has only interfered in the intersections as a way of letting the boards express themselves and communicate what this beautiful European ash has.
